Krista Goldstine-Cole is an advanced doctoral student in human development and education, a Presidential Scholar and an Early Career Scholar. She is interested in the social policy of healthy child development, particularly in the role of schools and community in reducing the need for social services across the lifespan. Krista's current projects focus on timing and accumulation of risk and protective factors in relation to high-cost outcomes such as incarceration and mental disorders. Prior to entering HGSE, Krista served as policy advisor on human services and corrections for the Washington State Senate Democratic Caucus and as education director for the Washington Family Policy Council. She holds a BA in Politics and Government from the University of Puget Sound, an M.Ed in adult learning and higher education from Western Washington University and an Ed.M in education policy and management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
