Chen is a postdoctoral fellow with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where he works in the Science Education Department on STEM related topics. His dissertation, Romantic Transfer: From Science to Social Ideologies (2017), explored what happens when students unconsciously transfer their learning from the hard sciences to the social world.
